“ I don't believe it YEAHHHHHH!!! I'm pinching myself, thank you so much” - Katie Bannister's reaction to being told she was the winner of a 13-night Canary Islands Cruise, courtesy of Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.
Katie and her firefighter husband will escape the drudgery of winter and sail away on a fabulous Canary Islands Cruise. Ports of call include: Lisbon, San Sebastian, Santa Cruz (Tenerife), Las Palmas, Santa Cruz (La Palma) and Funchal.
Katie joined the Royal Air Force in 1990 as a Medical Assistant where she gained qualifications in Anatomy and Physiology, Advanced First Aid, Electrocardiograph Operator and Aeromed (being able to transport patients on planes) amongst other qualifications. She left the RAF in 1995 and worked on the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Bolton Hospital on a temporary basis as a Health Care Support Worker. Kaite decided to apply for her Diploma in Higher Education in nursing in 2001 and after qualifying in 2004 she took her first job as a School Nurse in a school for children with complex health and learning difficulties, she stayed there for 18 months and then worked as a mainstream school nurse in different areas of Bolton until November 2009. During her time as a school nurse she undertook a Bachelor in Science degree in public health in 2008 and qualified in 2009. Katie currently works for a Family Support Team within Bolton local authority in partnership with NHS Bolton.
